7 things your iPhone isn't telling you

7 things your iPhone isn't telling you

1.   Make a passcode with letters: Instead of four random numbers, your passcode could
      be "BOSS".

2.  Shake your iPhone to delete your text: Did you change your mind about that text you
just tapped in? Shake your phone, and an "Undo Typing" box will come up. If you change
your mind after you've hit Undo, shake your phone for a handy "Redo Typing" box.

3.   Take selfies using the remote on your earphones: Just click the volume + button on
the remote on your Apple or Apple-compatible earphones while in camera mode to click
and shoot. No more awkward selfie arms!

4.   Teach Siri to pronounce words: Tired of Siri mispronouncing a word? Just say,
"That's not how you pronounce  "____" and she'll offer you alternatives. You can select
      the proper one.

5.   Swipe right to left to banish a banner notification: It's important to know this when
that embarassing Facebook or private text message shows up suddenly on your screen.

6.   See timestamps on your texts: Turns out there's a stupidly easy way to view timetstamps
of your messages in iOS 8. Touch and drag message bubbles to the left.

7.   Create shortcuts: Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Add New Shortcut.
Every time you type the shortcut, the whole word or phrase will appear.
