The Board is responsible for the overall management and corporate governance of Australian Military Bank. That means they are responsible for making Australian Military Bank work for the benefit of its members while retaining its financial viability and ensuring compliance with the law.
Rear Admiral Clinton William Thomas AM, CSC, RANR
Director and Chair of the Board
Clinton Thomas is a recently retired Rear Admiral, now in the Royal Australian Navy Reserve. He was most recently the Commander Joint Logistics (2013-15) and is the current Chair of the Board. Clinton is a graduate of the RAN Staff College and has a Masters of Management in Operations and Logistics from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management. He has previously been the Chairman of the RAN Relief Trust Fund, the RAN Central Canteens Board and Chairman/Patron of the RAN Australian Football Association.
Director and Deputy Chair of the Board
Graham Weber was appointed as a Director in August 2008 and Deputy Chair of the Board in 2014. Graham is a Certified Practicing Accountant and fellow of Fellow of CPA Australia (FCPA), with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in Accounting. His current role is Chief Finance Officer Air Force.
Director Chair of the Renewal Committee
Warren Thomas was elected to the Board of Directors in 1996. In that time, Warren has served on the Audit Committee for 8 years including 6 years as Chair of that committee. Warren has also served as Deputy Chair of the Board between 2007 and 2014. He is currently a member of the Audit Committee and Chair of the Renewal Committee. Warren has tertiary qualifications in Accountancy and holds a Graduate Diploma in Company Directorship. He is a member of the Australasian Mutuals Institute and the NSW Club Directors Institute and is also a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Group Captain John Brooks (Retd), joined Australian Military Bank’s Board of Directors in 2000. John graduated from the University of NSW with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in economics and is a graduate of the Royal Air Force Staff College and the Australian Defence College. He is a Fellow of the Australian Defence College, a Member of the Australasian Credit Union Institute and a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Brigadier Jane Spalding AM
Director and Chair of the Audit Committee
Jane Spalding is a Brigadier in the Australian Regular Army. Jane is a graduate of the Australian Army Command and Staff College, Royal Military College of Science (UK) and the Centre for Defence and Strategic Studies and holds a Bachelors degree in Social Science (Human Resource Development) and Masters degrees in Military Studies, Defence Studies and Strategic Studies. Jane is currently Chair of the Audit Committee.
Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee
Bruce Scott has been a member of the ADF since 1974 with operational service in Malaysia, Somalia and Afghanistan. Retiring in 2000, he now leads complex and sensitive ADF Inquiries. Bruce is a graduate of the Army Command & Staff College and a 2003 Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He is also currently a Director of Australian International Shooting Limited. Bruce is a member of the Risk Committee and is currently Chair of the Remuneration Committee.

Jodie Hampshire was appointed as a Director in July 2015. Jodie holds the Chartered Financial Analyst qualification, with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Her current role is Managing Director, Head of Australian Institutional for Russell Investments, where she has overall responsibility for Russell's institutional business and leads a team of professionals to deliver investment and superannuation services to clients with assets of over $20 billion. Jodie has experience across three countries in strategy, business financials, organisational design, HR, legal, compliance and general business management. Jodie is currently Chair of the Risk Committee.
