Welcome to the January issue of Communiqué

Our 59th Annual General Meeting was held on 29 November 2018 in Sydney. We thank those members who were able to join us and I congratulate Michael Crane (Director) and Jonathan Sadleir (Director) on being elected by the members. We look forward to their stewardship in shaping a better bank for the Defence Community.

Throughout November and December 2018, we were proud to host White Ribbon Golf Days at three different locations. The event aimed to bring further awareness to White Ribbon, a global movement of men and boys working to end male violence against women and girls. We thank all those members and Defence Community who attended these events, with more than $8,000 raised to support this worthwhile cause.

In February 2018, we saw the launch of our new core banking, internet banking and mobile banking services. Our new internet & mobile banking app offers convenient 24/7 services which includes a range of features to assist members such as checking balances, making payments, paying bills, applying for products, real time alerts, increased security via 2 factor authentications and budgeting tools. Most recently we’ve made further optimisations to the speed of our online banking services and we trust members are having a quicker experience when logging in and transacting digitally.

For the third consecutive year, Australian Military Bank’s Low Rate Visa Card has been named one of Australia’s best value credit cards in the Mozo Experts Choice Awards – Credit Cards. We are delighted to win this award again. It’s a testament to our ongoing commitment to serve the Defence Community with products that help save money and add value. I would also like to take the opportunity to remind members that Australian Military Bank is a mutual. Mutuals are businesses owned and run by and for their members, where members each have an equal say in what the business does. Mutuals are businesses driven by values and not just profit, hence it’s important to acknowledge that the Royal Commission into banking and other business conduct reviews, have not involved mutual banks.

On behalf of the Board, I would like to extend our sincerest thanks for all the support we’ve received from members in the past year.

We look forward to serving you in 2019.

Warm Regards,

John Brooks
Chairman
