How to avoid fees and charges
In order to help you avoid incurring unnecessary fees and charges, we have put together some hints and tips below:
- Check the balance of your accounts regularly to ensure you have sufficient funds to meet the payments that are coming-out (eg. Loan repayments, direct debits etc)
- Where possible, try and schedule direct debits to align with your pay cycle (it’s also helpful to allow an extra day or two for public holidays)
- Find previous bank statements for your transaction and savings accounts on Online Banking to reduce the cost of ordering paper bank statements
- Depending on the type of account you have, making use of PayID, the App and Online Banking to make payments may help you reduce your transaction fees
- Use Australian Military Bank ATMs wherever possible (you can find a full list of our ATMs here - https://www.australianmilitarybank.com.au/find_an_atm)
- If it’s been a while since you reviewed your banking arrangements with us, give us a call to see if you are on the best product for your needs
- Do you need all those accounts? If you have accounts that you are no longer using regularly, give us a call so we can close the account to avoid being charged an inactive fee charge (charged where an account remains inactive for over 12 months)
- If you’re not sure on a charge, please contact us as soon as possible
